| The project is a partnership between ASFLORA and EIDAI do Brasil Madeiras S.A. in an effort to make a contribution towards environmental citizenship, educating citizens to improve social commitment for sustainable development principles and actions. The project aims at students in different locations - Icoaraci, Belém and Garrafão do Norte. ASFLORA presented the idea to two schools which promptly engaged. The first year of the project has reached over 400 students and some 20 teachers at elementary and high school levels by promoting visits to EIDAI's experimental areas and guiding school work which will be exhibited at the end of the school year. To acknowledge the schools efforts, the EIDAI Environmental Education Prize has been created to award the best works produced by students under the supervision of the teachers engaged in the project. This is a continuing activity which will be expanded to reach more schools in the coming year. |
