Some Members Categories: regulars, contributors, special, honorary. Regulars - those appointed by the Board of Directors who regularly make contributions are entitled to voting in the General Assembly; Contributors - those whose applications have been approved by the Board of Directorsnot entitled to voting in the General Assembly; Specials - other institutions willing to contribute with ASFLORA approved by the Board of Directors who though may not vote in the General Assembly have the right to appoint 02 (two) directors. Honorary - those with exceptional contributions who receive special appointment from the Board of Directors, but have no right to vote. You can also help by beeing a volunteer, donating time and expert knowledge to ASFLORA activities. Why would one be interested in becoming associated with Friends of the Amazon Rainforest Association? More than ever there is a need for social mobilization towards good causes. Volunteer work strengthens socially responsible initiatives. ASFLORA has selected education as its main effort and above all environmental education dedicated to different audiences at several levels. From what you have seen in other parts of this site and find that you would like to spare the time and knowledge, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can also make small donations to help the Institute produce, print and distribute educational material. The environment in the Amazon shall be thankful for your interest and contribution. Some gains for associating with ASFLORA: Opportunity to do community work; Chance to visit reforestation experiments and previously degraded now recovered areas; Chance to visit schools and to meet students interested in environmental information; Participation in ASFLORA organized events. |
