2001 Main Activities

Participation in Miyawaki Planting Festival at Tauari Farm, Garraf�o do Norte, Par�;

Negotiation of Cooperation Agreement with the Municipality of Breves, Par�;

Organization of EIDAI do Brasil exhibition during the Par� State Industry Fair in Bel�m;

Participation in the Par� State Environmental Education Fair, in Bel�m;

Support for paper recycling project coordinated by art educator Domingos Oliveira in exhibition at the Esta��o das Docas Complex, in Bel�m;

Support for photograph exhibition portraing flora in urban settings by Patrick Pardini;

Organization of Tree Week in partnership with the Municipality of Garraf�o do Norte when 1000 seedlings were donated and planted in several localities.

Participation in Global Action 2001 - a social event when several hundresd of seedlings were distributed as well as organic fertilizer samples and 100 kg of beans were handed out to visitors.

Preparation of exhibition for the International Timber Fair;

Establishing of partnership with the Salesiana Technical School to develop activities in the Education, Art and Work Program as means to introduce the environmental dimension to youth education by recycling wood processing residues.

Survey and data banking organization of people contacted by ASFLORA who may be interested in developing further relations.

Submission of application to the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) requesting a senior volunteer specialized in recovery of degraded areas and a junior volunteer specialized in recycling of wood processing residues.

Development of ASFLORA logo.

Production of booklet about how to deal with problems such as waste, lack of sanitation and forest fires.
